The blob at the top of the rim looks like what happens when a coin gets hit on its side - this may just be the pic. As to the P being filled in - happens all the time. The minting process does not add or take away from the weight of a blank planchet. It simply stamps it. Therefore no metal is added or taken from it during the minting process. IMHO what you have is simply damage, post mint damage. Which was already pointed out. Report this Post to the Staff
