1936 Quarter Question

I have 4 1936 quarters. All 4 coins do not have the "dot".

But 2 have a "G" just to the left of where the dot should be.

Has anyone seen this before?

The word is FLU.

I will try this weekend to get pics. It really looks like a "G" and not a chip. On 2 coins and in different spots.

Well the FLU has flown! On better inspection, after taking pics and blowing them up, it was a tiny gouge that with the naked eye looked like a capital "G". Even with the loupe it looked like a "G"!

Oh well......thanks for the help!!
