I just found this and had to share it. I still have about 500 LWC to go through from the 5K hoard. I grabbed a handful and this one was third from the end. It looks like a lawnmower was used across Abe's head. Or an outline of a Mag-Lite. I really like it. I hope you guys feel the same.

I think it's a neat coin.

I'd classify it as PMD. Something about it doesn't look like a struck-through.

I'm sorry, but I strongly disagree. If the coin took a direct hit the displaced metal flattens the area on the reverse. The reverse has no damage and the obverse displays no displaced metal. See added photo's. Also, if it was a grinding wheel or another strike from an angle this would leave a more uniform mark. The remaining mark on this coin still shows the outline of the back of the head and the outline of his mouth. There is no PMD that could ever be that selective as to how it creates the damage.

Here is one from Mike Diamond's Website. This one is a lamination loss after strike. Mine is not as dramatic. I believe mine is a lamination loss before strike. Notice the outline of the back of his head and mouth? I never said it was struck-through.

I agree it's not PMD. It looks like an old lamination loss or maybe even a struck through. Cool Lincoln!

I believe it is a lamination issue. The ends look like it should bor a lamination. If it were a struck the ends would be more abrupt.
