Hi All, I've been following this forum to get a better idea of how to spot error coins, I've had a bit of a fascination over them as my father worked at the RCM in the 70s and started a very small collection including this 1974 1c struck on a 10c planchet. I also have others coins I'd like to get advice on.. Also, I have lots of blanks..anyone know much about them?

nice looking penny on dime around 300.00. blanks loonie and toonies are worth something and silver and gold blanks are seldom seen. pennies to 50 cent blanks are available at larger coin shows for around 20.00

If your error coins are anything like your 1974 penny/dime then I would post them one at a time and let us drool over them slowly!

Sounds like you have a great head-start to an error collection!!
If you are from the Ottawa-Gatineau area, there are a number of error collectors with the Ottawa Numismatic Society... could be a good way to pick the brains of some long term collectors...

Tks! He didn't have many error coins as some got lost before I got them but I think I've found some of my own...just starting to learn! I collect a few different types (I like buying Silver since it's "real" money) but I really like error coins.
I am from the area, in Gatineau (Aylmer), it would be a great idea since I feel like a beginner and have tons of questions :)
