Hello all - new to the site but long time reader.
I hope someone can offer some advice.
I have my late father's coin collection - very extensive.
Pennies from 1893 - 1960...large cent and small cent.
Nickels - all from 1925 - 1960.
1976 Montreal Olympic coins - all denominations.
Silver dollars - about 100 of them, most before 1967 - a few afterwards.
Dimes - from 1920's - 1960.
Small amount of quarters - 1940's and up.
50 cent pieces - about 100 of them....all decades, up to 1970.
All in great condition....a few are looking rough, but not many.
I also have a bunch of desktop pen holders that are holding a whole bunch of coins of all denominations.
My question is - will I get a fair appraisal from a dealer? Where do I get an appraisal? Any ideas on what they are possibly valued at? Any particular ones to look for? I have been doing research for a while and was just wondering what a next step would be. I don't really want to sell them....they are in a safety deposit box at my bank....and it is a pain to get them out sometimes....but, they are nice to look at. I just need to find out how much they are worth, and I thought the nice people here could offer some advice.
Sorry for the long post.

Hello, dab...Welcome to the Forum..

Great start on a nice collection of Canadian coins.

We, can help you quite a bit here on CCF but, you should try to photograph a bunch at a time ie, Large Cents first and we can go from there.
Stick around and tell us more, so we can help you.

If you haven't found this website already it is a great place to start. http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php Also includes a grading guide with pictures so you can get a rough idea by matching your coins up. From the list you give above, the 1925 nickel jumps out as likely the most valuable although silver dollars are good to go through for valuable varieties; particularly if you have any MS+.
