It has nice detailing, but has a hole. It is a well placed hole, and I might just use it, maybe a necklace for my wife? Might be to small a coin for a male necklace. Anyway, I wanna know if its worth bidding on, $6 with $2 shipping, ends tonight. I just know that kind of hole can take so much value... I don't see the link. If it is really nice and the hole doesn't look like somebody punched it with a jagged object it may doable. Other thing is, are you really going to use it?
I bought a holed capped bust dime that Is VF-XF but has a perfect hole (if there is such a thing) for $10 and gave it to my Wife. She loves it but won't put it on a keychain or charm bracelet so......

I'm sorry, but if it's got a hole, I don't want it. This is not an uncommon date. There should be reasonably priced 1853 LCs without holes. I personally would be much happier without the hole. But, obviously, it's your choice.  |

If you're buying it to fill a hole in your collection don't waste your money as you will want to replace it all too soon because the hole will bother you. Ed ANA LM-3175 |

lol, I actually didn't put the link because I was afraid of advertising it and driving up the price. This would not be filling a hole, my collection is mostly stuff from CRHing, I have not bought many coins, This would be my only coin of this type, and my oldest. Here is one that looks better, does not have a hole, but will cost you twice as much. I think you would be much happier with this coin. The big plus is that it is being sold right here on the forum by one of our members. http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...ctionID=6642 |

Couldn't find out the shipping on that one, does it say? I think if I am going to buy one at normal price I should check my local shop first, they have really good prices.

You can get that coin that year with those details for not too much more without a hole. I saw a couple holed ones in a local dealer's bulk box. I wonder what he would charge? Thanks for suggesting my auction. I would pay no more than $5 for a coin with a hole, full retail.

if you are buying it for the wife to wear id say go for it. better than taking a good one and putting a hole in it.

I wouldn't worry, you can get one with a hole cheaper if that is what you are looking for. Mine sold as well but I have another one of that year and I can get them out of a box at a local PM shop. You can get one without a hole for not too much more at that grade. If it is beat-up, you can get them easily for that price without a hole.
