Went to my first coin show for the new year here in the Charlotte area, my first show in about 5 months. Very crowded, I got a little frustrated because I could hardly get to the few tables I was interested in due to the crowd. The coins I did need I got at a good price though. 7 Mercury's I needed, 2 wheaties, and a couple of proof sets. I'm going to try the South Carolina show in Spartanburg in a couple of weeks, I'll plan to get there when the doors open to beat the crowd!

Hey, I know where that is! in the mid 80s I went to church in Spartanburg, SC. Too far north now to go to a coin show there now. I used to like the Greenville SC show and could always get a good buy on Canadian coins b/c no one down there collected them (pre-ebay/internet days).

I have always wanted to go to a Charlotte show, but I have often heard it is very crowded.

You might like to know that one of the two yearly "Greenville" shows is actually held in Spartanburg now; the show collectorplay mentions above.

The one I remember most was during a day it was snowing. It was downtown Greenville and EVERYTHING in town was shut down. We called the show to see if the show was still on... they were. My friend and I went to the Dean of Men's office b/c no one was allowed off campus b/c of the weather. I told him I had been planning ongoing to this show since the school year started and that I was from the Lake Erie Snow Belt in PA. My friend and I were the only ones who went off campus that day! The show was sparse in attendance.

To this day I could kick myself for not buying the mint condition 1934 Canadian dime for 10.00! That was more money back then, but I think it would have been a steal nonetheless.
