Hi,

I have never collected currencies to any major extent but recently saw this US $ 5 bill that appears to be off centered.

Please let me know if this particular note has any rarity value over $ 5 and provide an approximate value.

Thanks,
mdpmedia

Face value only, part of the print has to be missing for a premium.

Yes I would agree with John on that. Even though the $5 margins are rather off center, that isn't a major error.
It isn't old enough to warrant a premium either since its FRN series 1974.
I know you don't see much of these in the wild these days so since it is only $5 you might wanna just keep it because it is almost 40 years old now.

John has it again! Has to be cut into the design to bring a rarity premium....IMHO

And some people cut sheets of currency from the BEP to create false errors. So just because you can see more than one printing does not mean it is an error.

I like the old style bills, id pay asmall premium for it since it appears to be in good shape and I need it for my set. Not an error tho.

Unfortunately, face value. As others have said it is not cut into the design area. The only other ways to get some premium is if it were skewed or you had a second note showing.
