Hi all, I was just cataloging some world coins and I came across a 2003 Centavo from Ecuador. The thing is, I can seem to find it in the Krause catalog.

It lists Ecuador KM#104 with the dates of 2000 and 2004, but no 2003. It shows the composition as Brass, but the 2003 looks to be copper.

Can anyone help me figure out exactly what I have help? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Very weird. I didn't see anythin either. Not even a proof set in 2003. Someone will be along that can solve this mystery.

Does the coin look exactly like the one pictured in Krause?

UPDATE:
checked (131231) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed and Don has a 1 Centavo listed as

"km#104a 1 Centavo (2003) steel"

I think you've solved this one!! It sticks to a magnet, so it must be copper plated steel.

I had the WorldCoinGallery website in my favorites and forgotten all about it. I will definately have to refer to it more often.

Thanks for your help!!
