Newp 1796 $1 Draped Bust Small Eagle Design BB-65I've been working on my photo skills with the help of rmpsrpms, SsuperDdave, CaptainFwiffo & others over in the coin photo area. This is the best of the lot. Thanks for your help! Very pleased with this one... It's dirty and toned which is just how I like them. Hope you enjoy!

A lovely B-5 BB-65! And they only gave it a VF-30?

Wow! Great coin. I think it's a VF35 actually :-) Thanks for sharing your Newp!

Reverse looks like a low-mid VF, but obverse is stunning .

Excellent job imaging and a great coin too! VF30 is a conservative grade. That coin could easily go 35 on a different day.

The die break or Cud between I and C is pretty much diagnostic of this die pairing, mkman.

Thanks for your comments everyone! I'm in the VF35 crowd as well! In Silver Dollars & Trade dollars of the US, Q.D. Bowers estimates 800-1400 survival rate for this variety which he identifies as the 2nd most abundant. Stars 2 and 3 are typically light strikes. The Bust Dollars were quite the statement for such a young nation. Didn't realize the photo would be so small when linking to my CCF gallery. Must not have linked it right. I'll upload large ones. mkman123- Philadelphian beat me to it. I know that many of you like these ladies raw and I enjoy handling them without plastic as well. Top TPG plastic makes sense for me when considering estate planning and future liquidation. Thanks again for sharing your observations!

Wow! That is gorgeous! I also think it is a little undergraded.
