I think the set might be just as interesting as the +65 set. The "experience" those 2 coins represent is perfect! Like you mentioned, these were not meant to circulate, yet some obviously did. Since many of these were made at a time when fifty cents was still a sizable part monthly and yearly income it was inevitable that some would. Then to have many survive multiple wars, some the great depression and the silver melt of the 70's and yet make it to someone to sell on the market today is a back story I'd love to hear (or even just hold). You know your 2 coins didn't get slid into a sock drawer and forgotten until a grandparent passed away!
My number 1 goal will be to find as many pristine examples as I can of the 50 cent commemoratives - which is daunting enough... but I also plan on looking for those aged perfections of experience as well.
