That is one of the new hoard pieces? If so was it a regular or a premium piece?

Yes its a RCM premium piece. I will be leaving it in the orignal case. I do beleive there will be a premium price for the gold hologaphic seals that signify that its a premium piece.

That's a very nice piece....depending on how much the original lustre offsets the bag marks to a grader, that coins looks to be in the range of a MS63. The reverse looks pristine.

Hard to see in the photo but there's a beautiful halo on both sides with great mint lustor.

Typical MS 60 too many marks on obverse in key area.........ie in front of King's portrait!

I believe it's graded higher then MS-60. Seeing graded MS-62 coins compared they have less lustor and more bag marks then this coin. That's my personal opinion.

Send it in to ICCS and let us know. Good luck to you. Probably worth it to get certified and then you will have an unbiased 3rd party opinion!

I don't wanna send it in for grading. I'll probley just take it into few dealers I know and get there opinion in person for my own curiosity. Either way unless I find I better example of any of the coins I own I will never sell my collections till death do us part.

so why does the front of these gold coins always show the bag marks more clearly while the backs are usually much nicer.?

I believe it's because the ridges on the coat of arms protect the recess on the reverse well the obverse is left Fairly unprotected and open to bag marks. The serated edges on the coins I would assume dont help the preservation and and only contribute to more sharp edges and marks.

From the pictures, it looks to be about MS62 to me. I am happy for my opinion to be revised if pictured out of the plastic.
