Ok so I have not really messed with morgans in the past just small error coins. I bought a ziplock of coins off a guy today and it had a 1886 morgan in it. I put it under my scope I use for pennies and found alot of of clashes. I looked and could not find it anywhere. So my question is... Are all VAM's the same as they list them? Or can a single coin have several verieties of the same one? Does that make since?

Here is the coin, sorry for the pics I am only set up for cents and dimes.

Tell me what you think.

here is a list of what I found
Neck clash (in pictures)
Wing to "IN" clash
Reverse right field clash (like the 3+2)
Reverse die break from D across wind and to the S
Double earlobe on Obv
Die crack from wheat on top of head to bun
Die break of clash from you to the crown?
Die clash above the thrird star to right of date (coming out of hair line)
Die crach from hair bun, past the you and M to the star under the M. almost 1/2 inch long though field
Die clash inbetween lips

Also has the normal die breaks around rim and stars...

Rest in Peace

Have you looked at the 1886 VNA variety? It's quite common and sounds like a possibility based on your descriptions.

VAMs are generally defined by specific die pairs. Dies have a lifetime, and stuff happens during their lives. So, you can find a given VAM with and without cracks or clashing; that's why cracks and clashes usually only define a sub-variety of a given VAM. If the coin you picture here is, for instance, called VAM-2, you might have VAM-2A because it's clashed, when the original VAM-2 isn't clashed. There might also be a 2B, showing a lot more die cracking than 2A - a later die state.

1886-P VAMs are generally defined by specific things about the date - digit doubling, location and the like. So attributing your coin has to start with a very close look at the date.
