A friend of mine went to New Orleans about 10 years ago and I asked him to keep and eye out for Mardi Gras tokens. He brought back enough to fill 2 1/2 pages. They about Silver dollar size and made from Aluminum.

There are THOUSANDS of different Mardi Gras Tokens, most of them are very reasonably priced (ie, $.25-.50/each) in quantity. Some are issued in very small numbers in off-metals, ie, silver and bronze, vs. the normal Aluminum (colored or plain). Along with the Mardi Gras tokens of New Orleans are those issued by nearby cities, and similar sized/appearing pieces for other LA parades. There are several books on these, none of which are easy to find, most are out of print.
