I think it grades AU-55 maybe AU-58. The cheek appears to have a bit of rub due to slightly darker appearance when compared to the more lustrous areas right behind the eye and on the neck, just below the jawline. It has some remaining mint luster and if enough could bump it to AU-58. There is a bit of green, PVC possibly, in the denticles below the you and at approximately 7:30 on the reverse. Overall, a great choice for an upgrade!

I can't make up my mind on this one. My first reaction was MS 62-63'ish, but I took a second look using D0ubl3Eagle's comments. IMHO if it is not MS it is very high AU. It is a beauty!

Choice AU (also, the so-called "1-in-neck" variety...common, but still cool).
Where did you find this 1875? This coin in AU is very difficult to find. I think you can find BU's easier than AU's. This coin is usually seen in VF if you can find the date at all.

Quote: Where did you find this 1875? ebay is beautiful thing! (But, I'm sorry I can't divulge the price since it's a potential candidate for an upcoming GTP). Background: I was looking at my 3 Cent nickel collection and decided I needed more details on my collection's coins. Most were pretty good on reverse but lacking in details on the obverse. I just want more details, EVERYWHERE!
