What are the water looking spots I see on pennies, can they be removed and with what, or does it matter or affect grade? I've hear acetone a few times but I am reluctant to do anything too a few that I think might grade at 65 or higher.

Thanks in advance!

It's cleaning solution residue and it can not be removed.I don't know if it affects grade but it does lower the eye appeal.

They are a nuisance, annoying and occasionally heartbreaking. Nothing irks me more then to see a pristine, glaring cherry red, spotless reverse only to flip it over and bam...SPOTS! grrr. Rant over.

Just a normal part of the mint process. The spots are permanent....unfortunately. That's the whole trick to getting these in higher grades, no spots. It seems like when I find one that's very clean, it will have some nasty hits on it. LOL

I hear you BadThad! It's like, 'Woa what great Obverse, no nicks in the field, but, oh... stains all over he back.' Well thanks for the feedback guys!
