I purchased several of these hockey coins for my dollar set. Is there a safe and easy way to remove without damaging the coin. According to RCM packaging, the coin is securely held by a magnet. I would appreciate your help.

Since it is a Toronto Maple Leafs coin your trying to remove, I wouldn't worry about scratching it. Now on the other hand, if it was a Montreal Canadiens coin, then you would take the utmost care in getting it out Go HABS! All joking aside, what about using another stronger magnet on the top side to pull it out? You would want to put something between the magnet & coin so you don't scratch it

You guys are killing me. I do have the Montreal coin also to pull out! You know us Canadians, we wouldn't waste time making a Philadelphia coin. Will try the stronger magnet part.

Hoop, PLEASE make sure you try to remove the Maple Leafs coin first, before moving on to the Habs coin. That way, if you make a mistake and scratch the first coin, you can learn from it and avoid any damage on the more valuable Montreal coin. So how did it turn out trying to get it out w/ the magnet?

The magnet is not that strong... but expect a mark on the obverse, where the magnet came into contact with the coin. You have no idea how many Vancouver Canucks keychain loons I bought, before I found one with a mark-free obverse that would grade MS-67 (Numismatic BU)...
