Hi, I've recently purchased these in local kijiji ads for face value http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...IdZ461922761the Ad stated that it is 2008 but I can't find anything on it. Is it 2008 or is it 2007P? What's the value of these now? Did I find a gem? *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

The ballistic roll packaging was / is a gimmick from World Monetary Reserve, an aftermarket packager. They sold these rolls for 2 to 3 times face to non-collectors through newspaper ads with overinflated hype. They are just basic uncirculated Presidential dollars, nothing really special. I can't read anything in the ad pictures to tell you what date they are, or even wqhich president, but if you tell us the president we can tell you the year.

A nice pick up for face, but not worth much more than that.

ah thank you. Well I figure they are at least face value. There are 5 packs of these with 5 different presidents. It's a nice presentation though.

Well since they only issued four presidents a year you have to have two different years there. Once you have them in hand just examine the edges of the coins and you will find the dates there.

They could have given you four from one mint and one from another mint, perhaps. My grandmother ordered the George Washington ones from Denver and Philadelphia when she was alive so I have them now. They are kind of interesting to look at in their packaging but yeah, not really worth anything special.

I think you did pretty good. id be happy to get those coins at face. the older Presidential dollars are hard to find in circulation here, much less uncirculated condition. If I'm not mistaken it tells you the year and president right on the certificates that come with each one. its cut off so I cant tell if the certificate also says mint.

The one certificate that is enlarged shows J.Q. Adams, so this is 2008. I can't tell on the other certificates though. I don't think that I have ever seen these kind of rolls before. Interesting.

I will take some pictures of them when I get home today. They do have a nice presentation. the actual Face value is 255 as there are 5 COA with a loonie attach to each one of them and I only pay $250 Canadian.

Good catch. Sometimes I wonder if I actually know how to read.

I take back what I said before. you did really good and I would of been thrilled to pick them up at the rate you got them for. one thing you didnt take into account though is that, according to google, $250 canadian converts into $243.07 us. and, if you take the loonies into account you only paid $245 canadian which is $238 us. so you paid under face by a pretty decent amount.

Yes, I paid $250 Canadian for $255US face value. I do like the packaging of it. I figure, if worse come to worse, I can just bring these to the u.s and spend it. :D
I was hoping it maintaining its hype of 2 to 3 time its fv. LoL.
I looked at them again, there are 4 that are 2008 and 1 that is 2009.
