wow that would be great if you don't have to keep hanging up on them. they are nice looking coins. mine is not perfect it has a very tiny ding just under her chin but what do you want for 10 bucks. I think silver is around 14 an ounce so it is a great deal I would get them all day at that price lol but I think they would say something after the first coin. lol Gary

In the mail yesterday I received three very nice books from the company. They include pictures and a numismatic history of gold coins. The purpose I'm sure is to get people to invest in rare coins. Point is they are great books, I think. I intend to add them to my numismatic library. So, for $10 you get the slabbed ASE, and three super books. Not bad so far. Book titles: Type III Double Eagles 1877-1907 Type II Double Eagles 1866-1876 Indian Head Quarter Eagles

Gary, The books were from NGC. The free ASE offer in the front of the Red Book.

Gary: Since you signed up and received your ASE, you should also be receiving the three books.

gah, all I got in the spiral version after page 400 was a tearout card for a free Presidential dollars folder. A $2.99 VALUE! This is odd. I have both the spiral ringed version and the hard cover. That tearout card is the same in both versions I have. I sent in for the stupid coin folder since it was free, but no 700 nothing add in my books either one. As to the free Silver Dollar in the add in the front from Universal Coin company, I am just getting reading to order mine. In the previous 2007 Red Book there was a similar offer for 2 of them for the $10 Postage, handling. Got them both and no hasle at all. Notice that also signs you up for their newsletter which I get occationally and it is free and informative. Still wonder what happened in my Red Book hard cover without that other add. Might make this one worth more like the one with the missing page. Now do I call Whitman and complain, go buy a new one, write this off as a lost bit of free stuff?

i got the spiral first then when it wasn't there I called Whitman and they said that some had it and some did not. I went to barns and noble and looked to I found the card I wanted. the lady from Whitman went as fare as to tell me to go to a store and take the page. (I don't have the nads for that so I paid for another one) but if they are not wrapped in Cello just open and look at page 400 if it is there buy it if not look at the next book. but all the HC I looked in had it. hope this helps Gary

This is really irritating. I have all versions from the 8th Edition to present of the Red Book and wouldn't take a page out of the hard cover one since it is part of my Red Book collection. I buy one hard and one sprial for use. Both have the stupid folder thing. I sent an email to Dennis Tucker the publisher at Whitman Books about this. Probably won't get an answer but just had to voice my complaint.
