I have a Bank bag or two of Ikes as well as dozens and dozens of Bank rolls that were picked up when issued and thrown in a safe. Any thoughts on disposing of them

looking to sell them? use them for gifts?

Selling them won't get you much farther ahead than just hanging on to them, a dealer I know has hundreds and he charges $1.50 and based on how many he has in his shop I don't think he would buy any more for a while.
I like them around for the tooth fairy and small gifts.

Instead of passing out candy next Halloween, pass out your Ikes. Young kids love the big dollars because they've never seen coins so big. You'll be the hit of the block.

My kids love the scrap Ikes I gave them a couple months ago. They use them all the time to play store and to roll them across the kitchen floor.

Although some may view it as being a bit shady, you could see what kind of offer you get from a company like Littleton.

Original bank rolls and bags? Those would be uncirculated coins and would likely bring more than a 50 cent premium and I surely would not hand them out instead of candy. I would buy uncirculated Ikes at 1.50 a piece all day long. I rather think those particular coins are circulated examples.

But, if you want to get rid of them at face, let me know.

It's my understanding that any Ike with a "S" mint mark are 40% silver as well...might be worth checking.

250 post to sell or you will make mom and pop angry. Why not have a contest here on CCF and use them as prizes?

Kittens like them as well, especially when you roll them across the kitchen floor.
You just have to keep up a regular supply of kittens to ensure that Ikes are appreciated on a continous basis.

I'm gonna dig them out and get a look at them. My recollection was they were sealed bags but I'm old.

IMO 1971 and 1972 BU coins would have a premium.

If you were able to sell, then I would be interested. My middle son likes them because they are the hugest. I want to fill a Dansco for him, but they are hard to find in my area.

Just hang around in this forum, take your time to talk/discuss/research about IKE while looking through your bags/rolls of IKE and you'll hit 250 post in no time.....

By then, you will know enough about IKE and see enough of your IKEs to price them accordingly on here to sale. Selling is free, no-fee, more collectors enjoy/seeking these; which mean you will get the most of your money, helping out fellow collectors, ensure they will not sit at a bank vault for another 20+ year.....

Just my quick 2-cents for your 100-cents IKE..... hehehe

I'm sorry, I wasn't making it seem like a propisition. I just meant, that there are still some people that do like to collect them. Ikes are usually just "that big silver, but not really siver dollar". I think that if they are in BU condition that they should not be dumped back into rotation to be chewed up and lose a bunch of nice coins to the XF range.

If someone on my block gave out Ikes for Halloween when I was a kid, I would have tried to get them to adopt me.
