Im looking at a key date coin that is TPG cleaned, Au details. How much does this affect price from a straight Au grade coin. It sure still looks good to me but the holder has those dreaded words. Here is a pic

What type of coin is it? And was it dipped or harshly cleaned (polished etc..)? If you could post a few pics of it that would be a huge help. It's hard to say without seeing the coin... Or even knowing what it is.. Lol. But the value definitely drops a bit.

Try searching completed ebay listings for the type of coin as well as AU "details" &/or "cleaned" in the search and see if you can find any that have been sold and it will give you an idea for price. Without knowing what the coin is or seeing it that's about the best I can do for now..

Appears to be a Half Dollar. Not sure if P or S though since no reverse photo. Regardless, if the price is decent, I'd buy it since it is really in great shape. Of course I'm one of those people that could care less if cleaned or not except for harsh cleaning of course.

Since he's describing it as a "key date," it's likely a 1914-P Barber Half. The Details grade means I wouldn't reach as far as $800 for it; in a righteous AU50 slab it's probably a $1200 coin.

I saw the listing for this coin on ebay.

Heritage auctioned one in an NGC AU details slab on 12/1/2012 for $822.50.
