Hi all,
I read somewhere that the following coins were issued as premium hand selected.
Premium Hand-Selected Mintage:
1912 = 62 1913 = 45 1914 = 121
Does that mean that if all coins are rated say, MS64 that the 1913 is more valuable since only 45 were issued by the mint or that 1914 is more valuable due to the mintage?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

@jsinger those mintage releases are absolutely right.
1912 = 62, 1913 = 45, 1914 = 121
Not sure why it's being kept hush hush. When I asked those were the numbers I was shown. I think if the coins are kept in their gold sealed capsule they will keep their value.

I was trying to get a 1914 from my rep and only found a 1913. The prices are lower for 1913 than 1914.

I thought the only price difference was between the Hand-Selected and the Premium Hand-Selected.
I know there are still Hand-Selected 1913's available. IMO that would be a big score if it was Premium.

1913 doesn't seem like a great coin since the price of graded coins in higher grades is lower than 1914.

You can't look at the hoard release in isolation. The existing populations before the hoard release have to be considered. If existing + hoard for the 1914 is less than 1913, then 1914 will still be the more valuable.
The 1913 had over 3x the mintage of the 1914. So, there is a good chance the pre-existing population of MS-64+ coins is higher. The 1914 also has the cache of being the key date.
Clearly the distribution of the melt is a key piece of missing information.

Would you buy a 1913 premium hand select in that case or wait and see if a 1914 appears?

I'm wondering the fact the fact only 1/3 of the 1913 are premium hand selected vs 1914, the 1914 has huge premiums.

I haven't seen any lately on ebay. I believe Canadian Coin & Currency had some of the premium for sale awhile back. I managed to get a 1914 $5 premium after all this time.
