I recently purchased a 1662 oak tree 2 pence and consulted someone about the variety which I thought might be a noe 29.5 but found out that the coin was sold by heritage auctions encapsulated as vf details hold and then professionally repaired and resold to me, I made a mistake before purchasing it, do you think over time it will appreciate beyond the 1600 I payed for it?

steviegetz,
Go to your profile and turn the receive email to on. One of us will send our email address to you and post the pictures for you.
I should add that posting one's email address directly on a forum is frowned upon. Security reasons.
In private it is allowed. At least, I have never had a problem doing this.

Quote: do you think over time it will appreciate beyond the 1600 I payed for it? Sure it will, as a rule prices/values always eventually go up. (I's gone from 2 pence to $1600 hasn't it?) The question is how long will it take?

Should be easy to demonstrate that this is not a case of buyer's remorse, but of fraud. Is there no way for you to get some or all of that $1600 back?

I'm not sure, it was an ebay purchase, I'd really like to keep the coin I'm sure they aren't very easy to come by but I rather have paid a more reasonable price , it seems like they can sell at higher prices on heritage auctions even when damaged but that's if the market is right, do you think the demand should stay rather high since it was the only Massachusetts coin bearing the date 1662?
