Hey all, First time poster and long time lurker.
Found this one a couple of years back floating in my change.
About an extra half width of the normal size.
Knew it was a keeper as I had a local store look at it and he pounce on it with offers. Said it was probably a Planchet from another Country.

Should I have it graded? Who with? CCCS?
Any ideas as to worth? Someone told me about a $1000.00 but I couldn't believe that...
Thanks all for any info you can provide.

From the pictures it appears to be struck partially out of the collar causing it to be a bit bigger . This is not struck on a foreign planchet . The value wouldn't be all that much .

Pictures aren't the best. Weigh the coin and report back with the results.
Rest in Peace

zippyslow...your coin used should weigh approximately 1.774 grams .. According to the data I have been collecting for used Canadian coins.

Definitely not "struck partially out of the collar" as the whole dime is thicker and weighs more than a regular dime.

I will have it weighed tomorrow and post the results then.

Thanks all

Well, it's official...

2007-Dime-Struck-On-Wrong-Planchet?

Picture wasn't rotated right, but you can see the number.
So, now that we know it is a Planchet from another Country, should I send it to CCCS?
I understand that these are super rare to find.
Is it really worth $1000.00?

Thanks All.

Thanks John100.

Possibly the Planchet was from a 2007 Barbados 1 Cent (2.5g and 19mm) close enough?
Rest in Peace

Zippyslow...it may be a planchet intended for an Israeli 10 new Agorot coin of the Old Sheqel series.

Should I send it off to CCCS or one of the American companies to have certified and slabbed?

cccs, there is no border issues and insurance is cheaper in canada, if the dealer is offering over 400.00 just sell it to him.
