I don't have such coin for my collection but it will be very interesting. Russia has minted a fair amount of coins about space exploration. Some examples are shown here: Russia 1979 1 ruble. Featuring the Sputnik and the Cosmonauts monument at VDNKh station. Russia 1981 1 ruble commemorating 20th Anniversary of first man in space of USSR - Y. A. Gagarin. Russia 1983 1 ruble commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the first female pilot in space of the USSR, V.V. Tereshkov. Russia 1991 3 rubles commemorating the 30th anniversary of Gagarin in space Russia 2001 2&10 rubles featuring Yuri Gagarin. Minted as the 40th anniversary of this great Russian cosmonaut. Not enough? I am glad to hear they are doing a bi-metal containing tantalum, because I have an investment in a tantalum mine. The more world usage the better I like it. One day it might even pay a dividend. Original price was said to be around 60USD and it's easily around 100USD-200USD right now on the market. I have been trying to get hold of one but obviously it is rather difficult to due to mad prices and I refuse to buy it without the certificate and box. Here is the Australian Dynamic imaging of three colour images into a compsite which morphs into one another as the viewing angle changes. and another view third view These are 1 oz Silver coins with a mintage of 40,000 from Perth Mint How is this done? Well the image is on a wafer that fits into a silver coin. I have an 'error' coin that the image wafer has slipped out of place. I paid a higher price for this and then noticed the seller had a few more coming. I believe he opened the cases and POPed the image. Report this Post to the Staff
