The only info I know is that it isn't a U.S. coin since the 2-cent coin was long gone by the time this was made. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This is Austrian 2 Heller (still Austro-Hungarian empire at the time, I think). Looks rather good for an iron coin.

The dual monarchy of the Austro-Hungarian Empire dissolved in October 1918. That two-headed Habsburg eagle on this coin had about a year left to live.

A double-headed eagle goes back to at least 1803 in Russia.

Even before that. I beleive it started with Ivan III late 1400s. It disappeared along with the Romanovs. Reappeared in the late 90s.

The earliest Krause Catalog I have is 1800-1899, so my knowledge(sts) goes only that far.

Current catalog value for a 2 Heller in that condition is €1.00. It is an iron coin.

The Byzantine empire, Austrian Habsburgs and the Russians used a double headed eagle

For the Byzantines the two head represented East and West. For the Austrian Habsburgs it represented Church and state

the Russians adopted the symbol from Bysantium

The double headed Eagle did make a return to Austria briefly 1934-1938
