The new coin division of the Troutshed Mint has opened today just in time for the much anticipated production of the Limited Edition Easter Series. The Limited Edition Easter Series includes the "Masterpieces in Old Gold" set comprising a three coin presentation. The set comprises: 1943 1/2d Roo 1981 20c Platypus 2000 $2 Elder Whilst it is only a day into the minting there are already some error coins known to eggsist. Such as: 2000 $2 clipped (bitten) planchet. 1981 20c lamination flaw. and the 2000 $2 broadstrike error. It is expected that the first sets should arrive by EB Courier early this coming Sunday. Many of this series are expected to enter dietary circulation very quickly so UNC (UNConsumed) eggsamples should be become scarce quite quickly. Note: There are no proof coins to be minted in this release as they are being reserved for the upcoming pudding series. The following are some publicity photos taken from today's opening ceremony.

Disappointed you didn't include the Easter Bilby (roadkill limited edition) I feel like a bit of a "bunny" complaining but that is eggsactly how I feel.! Not "cross" but it will take me until next Tuesday to recover.!

Great inspiration "The Unicorn" ! . I sometimes "bribe" my students with this "limited edition" currency during challenging lectures. I have observed that it usually disappears from "circulation" very quickly Squire

I have examined your pictures in fine detail and get the impression that some of these examples might in fact be gold "plated". I have to say that I prefer my pennies with a chocolate brown patina ;)

FNQ .... I think it's the new process that Troutshed uses that takes away the choc colour .... it's called "Tone Loc" and is responsible for the "Funky Gold Patina"
Happy Easter to all the CCF crew !
