1. Trying to tell the buyer what it's worth.
"TRENDS FOR $3000 !!!" I especially love these phrases on coins graded by TPGs with names like ACME.

2. Upselling the certified grade. "PCGS WAS IN A BAD MOOD!", "Looks Better!!", "WOULD LIKELY GRADE HIGHER IF RESENT!", "No way it cleaned!"

3. Exclamatory remarks, or even exclamation marks period. "WOW!"

I want to look for coins, not read the text version of some slick, sleezy used car salesman. It just makes me distrust the seller and skip to the next coin.

1. This one bothers me a lot... especially when it's a totally unknown TPG. Very deceiving!

A similar thing that bothers me is when the seller types something like "WORTH @$28,000 in MS-65!" when describing a raw coin that would be lucky to get a grade of fine! What a bunch of garbage, but unfortunately it's all part of navigating the Bay.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day. Lucky for me my mind reads Trends in a title and just skips to the next one for me hehe. It's just people hoping to sucker people into giving them more money I assume, and either way I find it annoying so I just make a point to avoid it.

Report them for keyword spamming using this form. It works. Do not use the report link in the listing. That usually doesn't work.

As soon as I encounter any of those phrases (along with literally hundreds of other similar con jobs) I move on without even slowing down to look at the seller's merchandise.

"RARE" in the title has become an auto-skip for me. The coin is invariably an very ugly, totally worn or problem coin.

Another one that annoys me is

"I'm not a coin collector/professional" yet the title of the auction says AU-55.

The ones that really tick me off are the ones that have all the bells, whistles and flashing lights. I don't need any story or special effects, just good pictures.

Two full pages of "historical background" to scroll through, only to find at the bottom a grainy, postage stamp-sized picture of the coin.
