The "Bid Phil" refered to has the weight of 1000 ounces that's why it is 31 kg. There has been a very controversial in a Geman forum if it is really a coin if you need it to have a complete collection etc. I guess it was only a metter of time until another mint released an even bigger coin. I'm curious to see which mint picks up the challenge to set a new record.

I'd love to see the look in the slabbing room if that pup was ever submitted.

I'm sure it wont take the US mint to produce one twice as big.......

Yeah, knowing our huge sizes for everything we'd probably make a pure gold coin the size of a table.

I am $999,900 short of getting one. It will make a very great counter top.

Same here- although it actually costs closer to 2 million to produce each one, and the gold value is pretty high too- 100 kilos of it!

I thought it is ONLY 1 million. I need to work five more jobs since I really want one. LOL Someone should make a wood copy of it. It will make a very great coffee table top.

I do beleive it is over 2.5 million in gold alone- 100 kilos is a LOT. If I am not mistaken, this now qualifies as the most valuble canadian coin- knocking off the 1911 dollar, valued at 1.2 million- with one silver example to be owned privately. Andrew
