Opps I was jumping the gun a little no arrests yet, these are older mugshots, they have been named as suspects and arrets warrants have been drawn on both of the men.

Sure hope the gold is recovered in original undamaged form. I don't know how they could have sold it without raising suspicions in the origianl nugget states, but if they melted it down they have destroyed it's true value and educational value as well.

I've seen the collection and It is a very neat set of natural nuggets from the Northern California gold fields. Along with some information on how the gold was taken from the ground, various tools used and some things the nuggets and dust became like coins, jewlery, watches, etc. The case wasn't as well protected as it should have been to be fair.

I doubt those two bumbleheads could figure out how to make a furnace capable of melting gold. Probably sold by the handful at Cash-For-Gold shops between Yreka and Las Vegas.
