Hey hajduk,

Looking at some Heritage auctions, I spotted a $5 Hamilton national in similar condition to yours (very good+), sell for $86.25 back in 2009.
With today's prices, I extrapolate that your note should be worth $100-$110. That would be fair price.

I know to some national collectors, grades don't mean much. But that top margin is a little on the rough side. I would probably offer $75-80 USD.

Hi,
I try to pick much better conditions.
The Grade is important for me.
This is a Ohio Bill and that is why I mean the bill is commonly.
States with fewer charter banks are not so common that is why I can not look only quality.
In small states with few banks I will take what I can get.
In the Large Size Federal Reserve Bills, the Silver Certificates, the U.S. Notes or the Gold Certifiactes I also expect ever better quality.
Perhaps several collectors think something like this.
For me, this realization resulted from the slow learning and a bid experience.
However, I am a beginner and collect an area which I is not my home. I am a Croat in Germany who has fallen in love with the Large Size Americans.
(Of course, only the paper money!)
I am glad to have found you here, and I hope very much to learn.
I've invested a lot of time in my passion and this was almost alone.
The Europeans collect of course primarily European currencies.
I read with my crappy english through catalogs and always tried to watch the market.
For ebay I needed a second account because you can observe only 200 articles.
That was not enough.
At the Nationals everything is different, Crazy!
Also, this makes the Nationals so interesting.
Sorry for my bad english. I hope it's getting better! :-)
I think this Bill is the minimum for Ohio.
Greetings

hajduk, the grade of the note is one of the most crucial factors surrounding a note of course. The large majority of collectors I say will prefer better quality notes over poorer ones.
Of course some collectors specifically go for lowball notes as grades 1-10 are actually quite rare.
I'm glad people in other countries are interested in U.S. currency and not all of us prefer Large Americans I personally only collect small size ones.
Don't worry your english is perfectly understandable.

Hi Woodford,
I like the small Americans to.
I currently have about 250-300 small bills.
The majority of the bills are from 1928 to 1969.
I have the most of the small Silver Certificates including some Stars, The most of the Red Seals and the Districts of the 2 Dollar Bill from 1976 and 2003A are completely.
But again much National Currency.
When I saw the Friedberg I knew the Chief and the Bison that is what I must have.
So the focus was on the Large Size Notes.
I also collect old Scots, Germany since 1948, Northern Ireland and Yugoslavia.
Beautiful, noble Bills are art and should be preserved as cultural heritage for the coming generations.
Whether American, German, Spanish or Costa Rican Bills,
They are history!
One of the most interesting American bills is the $20 1914 Fed Bill.
The back says,
We are dynamic, everything is possible, live your life, go your way!
I hope my english is not too bad for so much philosophy.
Greetings

Hello people,
a new question.
What would be a good price for this Star?
No pinoholes or cuts.
Thanks for the help.

Value-Of-That-Bill?

The Seller wants about $1050 for this beauty!
I am not sure because I have no $20 1914 Star and the Friedberg have no price.
I only know that these bills are not often offered.
