Is there a book that list the current prices for proof sets? Or do I have to research on the internet? Works getting busy with planting, so time on the internet is decreasing. Any ideas? What's the value of the Philadelphia 1961 mint set?

Numismatic News says 1961 $50 but if its a mint set there should be both Denver and Phili so it looks like you have half a set. Numismatic News quote high retail prices on the whole so I normally take off 20% FOR A REALISTIC PRICE

Philly was still doing all the proof coins in 1961 so the Mint token will say philadelhia.

I just purchased a couple of 61 Proof sets for 13.00 each .

The RedBook has a price guide for mint and proof sets . however it is a guide and is often times not accurate but it can at least give you general Idea of value.

RedBook is listing them at $11.00

all is not lost ,, the coins themselves can total way more than the 25.00 you paid for them ,,

any of the coins cameo ? it can be a bit tough to see through the mint cello .

take a look at the single coin prices and you will se what I mean .

be sure and check the Franklin for the doubled Die on the motto .

Definitely not as shiny as the original coin, but I do not think it is cameo(looked in glossary) or double die.

I like it, the bell on the back of the half does look like it has printing on the bell. All the old coins I have are too worn to even show the crack on the bell. Also I noticed the little o in of on USA. First time I've seen one this good this close. Well worth it just for that. Learned something new today.
