I have $250 in Penny's and when I cash it in I'm planning on getting an 1858 Canadian penny. The problem is I cant find any, on ebay threes one at a lower price and then one at a higher price so all I have to turn to is an other site. Thanks

There's at least 25 listed on ebay. How are you searching?

I meant ones for $250. There arnt that much on ebay and most are problem coins. I'm hoping to get one with no rim nicks, no pitting, no corrosion, and no splotches or spots. it also cant be cleaned. I live in an area where there is no coin stores at all and ebay doesn't seem to have that "one" so I don't exactly know where else to turn.

Ya, its unfortunate. He is a local seller here in Ottawa. Seems to have an unlimited supply of these 1858's. Great guy though.

Or just be patient. There's new stuff coming up on ebay everyday. Just save your search and set it to email you when it finds a match.

The last post is the one I agree with best. Be patient, and buy a coin that makes you happy and proud to own...

Its a buyers market so dont rush. I am pretty sure you could land a strong EF-AU coin in your price range! Try and find certified coin as they are going for well below trends these days. And if you go with a recognized TPG then you will not have to grade by photos alone. Sometimes photos look better than the coin in hand!

1188howest, may I ask how can you tell it's improperly cleaned? Is there any "proper" way to clean though?
