I can purchase this for $600 which is steep MS64 money. I would send it to PCGS for grading upon receipt and hope for the best. My fear resides within dark marks on the reverse. There seem to be very little contact and bag hits giving nice clean fields but those tone marks might hold it down to MS62. I really need opinions here from established collectors and dealers. Drop the $600 or keep looking? 2 different light angles thanks

I don't see this coin coming back in a MS64 holder, more likely MS62/63 due to issues you've already pointed out. The die cracks are neat - I'd ask the seller to offer a refund based on grade PCGS returns it in, if they are so sure it's an MS64 then why don't they put their money on the coin. If it comes back MS64 or higher then you win, otherwise you've covered your costs and get a refund you the difference.

$600 isn't too steep for 64 - only one of the six 64's offered by Heritage in the last 5 years went for less than that, and the last two hammered at $977. Assuming that's a clash through the E in DIME, I don't see a lot holding this one back from 64.
But no, I wouldn't risk the $600. I'd need much larger pics to gain confidence.

Dave, that is a die clash as confirmed by the seller. It attributes as an Obverse TII A7/F-105. I do have a money back guarantee but obviously that's go to be exercised within a few days of confirmed delivery.
Westcoin, excellent point and that is what I am going to offer and then walk if he does not want to secure the business with that agreement.
Thanks for the input lads, it's a great assistance to how I will move ahead

Don't think I would drop $600 on a raw coin like this, seems that if the seller was sure it would come back 64 he would have sent it out for grading. Think I would look for one already in a TPG holder.

I am with westcoin on the grade. I think the best it could grade is 63 but the spotting has the potential of dropping it a point. A MS-63 is probably worth somewhere in neighborhood of $450-500. Personally, I would pass at $600.

One more vote for passing. The photos don't show vibrant luster and may even suggest there is some rub on Liberty's breast and thigh. I'd guess an MS-63 is the best-case scenario and you might even be slapped with an AU-58.
Too much money, not enough coin.

my first impression was that there is a little rub on the high points of the hair, breast and thighs. also on the some of the leaves around 10 o'clock. this just could be from lighting. if it is true wear, it may indeed come back as AU58. You should be able to verify this if you get coin in hand and return it within the warranty.

thanks to all for the input i have passed altogether on this coin and informed the seller as such I'm in no rush as an all AU/MS LSD Collection is going to be something that takes time and patience. Identifying the right coin for the money is a must. I really like varieties and its a shame to pass on such an MS example of the A-7/F-105 but its not worth a potential over spending 40% of current market trends to own it. I have paid premiums of 10 - 15% on AU/MS varieties in recent months but that is about my limit and they were already slabbed. anyway, thanks again folks, you're all solid IMO

Sure is pretty, but...I would not take a chance on an uncertified coin of that caliber.
If the seller feels that confident, let him/her send it in!
