VF 25 is my best guess. Nice half dollar!

F-15 I think the reverse keeps it from vf-20.

Choice fine = Fine-15 = a nice example! It doesn't make VF-20 because the lower band of "LIBERTY" is not complete. It easily makes F-12. The weak "E" and "R" are normal. To call it a F-15 is a judgement decision. And I concur. Consider linking to the BCCS website ( in my signature ) to learn more about the Barber series. The scratches on the obverse are nothing to worry about. ANY Barber half in fine or above is downright difficult to find nowadays.

$32? Downright VERY reasonable. Look, I have been tracking down all four Barber series for many years. I JUST completed a set of Halves within the last week. I hope that you are not quibbling about a dollar or two. These coins, when found as nice as this for a fair price, will never disappoint you in the years to come. Any assistance with Barbers just ask me and the other members.

Thanks matthewvincent. I really like the barber series, although don't have many in my collection. I decided to do a dime set in F to VF problem free. Which got me in to doing the V nickel series in F to VF.....now I'm dabbling in halves....I guess you could say addictive. At this point the quarters scare me due to 3 dates haha.

You and I BOTH, shadow! [Afraid!] I have a complete set (quarters), minus the "big three." Except for a 13-S which I picked up back in 1991. These are tough to collect as a complete series. In fine and above, well, it will take many years. I'd suggest tackling one denomination at a time. My 1913-S is on the left, and another for sale [ also a VG-8 ] is on the right. It was a bad day for dimes, so I debated for 20 minutes or so on the quarter. Not one but TWO were available form the same dealer. I bought the nicer one. SO glad that I bought it when I did! I got it for $450 at the time.

F12 only reason I'm not at F15 due to what look like tiny crosshatched scratches all over the obverse.
