Hello,

Please take a look at my gold 1899 $10 coin. On the reverse you can see there is an interesting effect, which is caused by broken die (?) - correct me if I'm wrong. Does it make any additional value to the coin or is it just a melt value (a common effect?).

Yes, that's a cracked die. I don't know about that adding to the primium, but it does surprise me coming from a gold coin, which are not know for being hard on dies like nickel.

I'll wait for someone else to comment on value. Nice coin!

Very nice! Yes,that is a die crack. As harrison said, you would think dies for gold coins would not really have this issue. It may add some value to the coin. I am not big on the gold coins, but I would think that it certainly has value over melt.
