I'm just as amazed by these as I am the puck and mini puck loons. I just find it so hard to believe there are not more then a hand full of people in all of Canada that are interested in having a full set of loons. Or that in all of the world there are not more people that are hockey and coin fans. I keep thinking its not a lack of collectors but extremely poor book keeping on the mints part. I asked the question before about the Edmonton mini puck loon. It was my hope to find even one more then what was minted but the post died do to lack of interest so ..... maybe!

Interesting all the same. low mintage, demand or not, can be seen by some collectors as a challenge. The 2007 newborn sets is an example. Low mintage is the primary factor driving up the crazy value, backed by a considerable base of silver dollar collectors. Potential increase in value or not, the lenticular hockey 50 cents may be a nice collection to complete. Maybe i'll start with the Calgary Lames :)

This is not RCM's first Lenticular coins is it? The first is a dino-related one right?

The dino series was 2010. The NHL logo series was 2009. I think the first lenticular was the Holiday Ornaments in 2007.

Canadian coins has a few of the 2009 lenticulars on sale for 12 bucks (including the Vancouver). I'd still skeptical of the mintage numbers on these and some of the other NHl coins/sets (especially the goalie masks) but still bought a Van, TO, Ott, and Edm. I have NHL fever!

Isabel one of each of the goalie masks, seems only one of them (Montreal) is worth anything above issue but I love them all.Bought them all from the mint when they came out not sure of the mintage of each but I think down the road might be worth something cause I don't think many we're made.

I have 5 of 6 and 3 of the Ottawa - yes that's right, I'm missing the Flames. The published mintage is unbelievable IMO. Calgary 125 Edmonton 147 Montreal 748 Ottawa 95 Toronto 244 Vancouver 129 https://goccf.com/t/130766#130766

That seems crazy that there is only that few out there, how come I have such a high coa. That means that there can only be like 95 complete sets and I have one yaaaaa lol. And the one that there is the most of is the only one worth over issue.

Nice! J&M apparently doesn't have the price listed for it. Does anyone here know the average price for such a nice coin?
