I finally managed to get the only coin I was missing from my "Vancouver Canucks" collection of coins... the 50-cent lenticular puck coin. I had been hunting this one since 2011... and one finally came up on ebay. It was not a popular item, basically made and shipped on demand. Total mintage of only 318 (2009 RCM Mint Report). What does it means: "made and shipped by demand"? was it available from RCM (website) or PO?

You Canadians are so lucky to have a great mint. I wish the US would pay attention to our northern neighbors.

Congrats! I agree with Fuzzy317, it's always great to complete a set! How effective is the lenticular technology on the coin? Considering its low selling price when it came out ($24.95), I'm surprised it sold so poorly. Must not be many Canucks fans among the RCM's customer base!

I don't think it had anything to do with hockey fans - I think collectors, at the time, were overwhelmed with the Olympic coin issues, and this issue, along with the silver painted goalie masks slipped completely under the radar screen.

Congratulations! I can imagine the joy of finally finding the missing one, especially given the super low mintage.

With only 318 minted, what are they selling for when they come up for sale now?

Nice! Congrats! Its neat to know that there are "only" 318 others out there!
(have you ever wondered what would happen if you were to amass the whole mintage of a coin?)

Nice! I didn't realize the mintage on these guys are so low. Odd how it works ain't it with produced-to-demand coins; not a lot of interest at issue can translate into higher prices later due to low mintage. Do you have the full set SPP? Quote: what a loser coin Really?.... man...
