Wait... Isn't Swarovski crystal just fancy cut glass?

You got me. I was trying to be polite and gentle instead of being my usual acerbic, irascible self. In answer to your question, yes--I believe this is another of those silly, insanely overpriced things with a piece of cut glass super-glued into the middle of it. The LED in the box however is a new height, though. I can't wait to see what the next level will include (maybe a little audio generator in the box that plays Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries when you open it?)...

Coins that are colorized, crystal-bearing, 3D, hologrammed or mother of pearl inlaid come under my definition of "coins with crap on them". As a collector of bullion coins I like to have variety (I hate seeing youtube videos of people showing their "collection" of dozens and dozens of ASEs) but there's a lot of junk out there that I have to avoid.

Yeah, I think I would have to agree with you on this. One of the reasons I decided to go for the Fortuna Redux coin was that, despite it's unique design, in the end it was minted like a traditional coin instead of just having stuff added to it. Plus, it was featured at the 2013 World Money Fair in Berlin and generated a lot of buzz there.

That 2013 Niue 6oz silver $50 Fortuna Redux is one of the very few fancy offerings that I think won't end up on the historical scrap heap resulting from the present Fancy Coin Race. That one is a genuine piece of artistic metalwork that I think will have enduring value.
I don't have the same prognosis for the great majority of those "...weirdly-shaped, colorized, crystal-bearing, 3D, hologrammed, mother of pearl inlaid, etc., coins." I think most of those will be available a few years down the road for far less than their peak selling price. Those things aren't legit numismatic stuff and as bullion goes, they're just badly overpriced fad merchandise. I won't be surprised if most of them end up in the LCS generic silver box.

When I started collecting, I was very much taken by the coins with gold bust, pearls and all the fancy stuff. They look good. But it is very difficult to sell them quick in case you need money. I still buy some of the 'crap' coins but only because I like them.

You should only buy them if you like them. But please lets not compare these kind of coins with bullion.

The essence of the OP in this thread was: "Just wondering what people think about the various bullion "coins" being produced in limited mintages by tiny countries with extremely high premiums. I'm talking about all the weirdly-shaped, colorized, crystal-bearing, 3D, hologrammed, mother of pearl inlaid, etc... ... Any thoughts would be appreciated!"
There was nothing in the OP requesting that posts not compare these coins to anything else in particular. Posts in this thread have differentiated between and compared legitimate numismatic value coins, regular bullion coins, coins that are legitimate pieces of artistic metalwork (but not really traditional numismatic coins or regular bullion) and other types of "coins" that have been referred to as "fad merchandise" and "coins with crap on them." None of these differentiations or comparisons are outside the limits set in the OP or off-topic and because of that, there's nothing wrong with comparing any or all of these different types of coins.
The OP solicited "...any thoughts..." on these fancy coins, so dictating prohibitions of any specific on-topic and appropriate thoughts (as defined by the OP) from this thread is contrary to the stated intent of the OP.
I'm sure if Barryg has any problems with any of the posts in this thread being inappropriate or unacceptable, he won't hesitate to say so.
