Seller pics, just won it for 11$ on the bay. Dime seems original, not sure about the mint mark (advertised as 1877-CC). Pics are awful, but all of his pics are, and he's a top rated seller with 15k+ feedbacks at 100%. What do you think? Edited by supgog 04/18/2013 6:09 pm

I would not say that the reverse in NOT a"CC." However, the amount of wear is unusual/uneven. The obverse approaches a fine, but ... The ear of corn shows kernels and yet the bow is quite worn. Edges quite worn. For $11 not a big loss if you are not happy with it.

Enlarged to 400x, it looks like it might be CC, but difficult to tell for sure. If it is, you did ok

It looks like a CC mintmark to me. It is very worn but, I can still make out the "CC"
Good purchase for $11 as long as you like it...

I have to see the coin in hand before I can say whether I like it :D.

The coin is here . It definitely has a CC mintmark, but it is very weak. I had hard times even showing it in the pics (only visible from some angles and some lighting conditions). It looks right to me, but any chance it is an added mintmark?

I don't see any reason to worry. They minted a bazillion of them (OK, 7 million ), and a weak mint mark from a worn die isn't surprising.

With Dave here. Simply a weak strike with funky wear pattern. Not too bad for 11 bucks.
