Very interesting dime Tbone! I see a DDR for sure, it's very easily discerned. Don't really see any wear either, but I can't tell how much luster, from a static photo, is still there. Variety 108a - Obverse 6.2 very rusted die with a very severe die errosion. MS63 is the condition census, so I'm thinking this one is pretty close to it maybe even better.

MS63+

is that your dime tbone? if that's graded better than the Fortin Plate Coin, which Greer owns and is an MS63 but not by a TPG, that is graded by a combo of Fortin and Greer's expert opinion on the series, you may want to submit that for plate coin consideration

I'm not sure what PCGS gave this dime but I am curious

Here you go. Not my coin but thought it was an interesting one. It's up for auction on ebay.

Searched for it on ebay (wanting it) until I saw the cost, and after all the books and taxes I've spent money on this month, I can't afford it

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181125910449

Though $725.00 seems pretty fair for one this nice, and a great error variety coin, in a heavily collected series.

premium mark up for the variety is too much
hammer dropping at HA on MS62 and MS63 for under $500 on a few coins in the past year

I think he's as high as he is due to eBay/paypal and the $100 it will cost him to sell this through this vehicle

I'd rather PM him and offer sending a check for $600

this is why ebay is a bad place for our hobby; inflating the market on premium coins due to their piece of the action IMHO

I don't see how ebay differs from any transaction modality other than person-to-person cash. What about buyer's premiums at major auction houses? Credit card processing fees, hosting fees etc, for any webstore? B&M markups?

Edited to add: Oh, I guess that was your point-- you'd rather email the seller and buy direct :)
