I went to the local bi-annual coin show yesterday and just thought I'd share my day and purchases.

First off, every dealer there was extremely nice and more than happy to chat it up and even let me hold/check out coins well above my budget, even after telling them there's "no way I could spend that much but would love to just hold it and drool", and they were more than happy to hand them over, saying they were happy I could enjoy just holding them.

Three of the nicest were a MS-62 1895 O and a beautifully rainbow toned MS-65 1892CC Morgan's as well as another beautifully rainbow toned MS-64 bust half, I don't remember the exact date but pre 1820... Wow, they were unbelievable! A couple Flowing hair and Draped Bust dollars as well, quite beautiful indeed, even in lower grades!

So I splurged on a nice toner 1883CC morgan (old small ANACS slab). I'm gonna keep the grade to myself until I can post it for opinions in the grading section just for fun. But wow is she a beauty!
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, I'll try to get some much better ones with my USB cam when I post it for grading opinions.. But you'll get the idea.

The reflection is much clearer, but I couldn't hold my hand or phone still.. The first two pics are about 6-7 inches away, the third at least a foot. The last two are with the slab resting on the RedBook. From a foot+ its as clear as these last two pics, again without the slab resting on the book I couldn't hold it still enough so it's not appearing as clear as it really does, magnificent coin!

So... This baby was a bit on the expensive side so my other purchases were rather smaller value wise..
I didn't take pics but I got the last 3 Sacagawea dollars I needed for the full set to date (2001p&d and 2002p) so now that set is complete including proofs . I also picked up a ASE for $28 (2012 for my daughters birth year bullion set), and a couple transport tokens (1 from Holyoke Ma, 1 from Springfield Ma, and another from I don't know where), all 3 for $1, and a few other smaller purchases that are escaping me right now.. All in all a great day!

I went to the show with my sisters father (he's not my father tho) and he upgraded a few of his IHC's, and as of yesterday he has more than half of the full album, including the 3 Flying Eagle cents in MS... ... Uuugh... What a beautiful set!!

But anyways one of the ones he upgraded was his 1860, it was scratched but with great details still. When we got back to his house he replaced the scratched 1860 with his nice new MS one and tossed the scratched one to me.. and also pulled a decent 1883 (a double he had) out of his drawer and threw me that one too and said to keep um! very very nice of him! I offered some money but be wouldn't take it.

I didn't have a 1860 yet so scratched or not it has a home with me now, just the slightest wear on the diamonds and high points.. Well that is aside from the scratches on both sides. And I already had a 1883, but this one is definitely nicer so it replaced mine! Liberty's about full, hard to see in the photo though, this one also has a crows foot scratch above the ear.. But it's still nicer than the one I had as a filler, lol.

And then this morning I got the mail and my 2013 P, D & S Perry's Victory quarters came in! I preorder all the PDS quarters in gem condition and they get sent to me as there released.. So that was a nice bonus after my amazing time this weekend!! I'll get better pics of the Morgan posted soon.. I'm slacking, I still have others that I still haven't posted yet either.. Including a nice lime green toner.. I'll try to get on that asap..

Thanks for looking everyone! If you wanna guess on the Morgan's grade feel free but I know it's hard with these pics and I won't say until I take better pics and repost it for grading.

I'd say the Morgan is MS-64 DMPL from the pictures here.

Very generous fellow your sister's father is. It's nice to have a family member who also collects coins to go to shows with.

Get some pics of that MS '56 Flying eagle, I wanna see that and drool so much I'm gonna need saline.

I dig the morgan, get some proper light on that and some good pics and I bet I'll like it even more. 64PL is my guess from those pics.

Thanks everyone! I had a blast at this show. The one last fall was good but had nowhere near the amount of jaw dropping coins as it did this weekend! There was a ton of just stunning coins this time, it really was a huge difference from the same show last fall. And I'll def work on better pics of the Morgan asap.

GoldenChest- you'll have a blast at your first show, SOOO many spectactular coins! It really is a great time, even just to see/hold some coins and not buy anything I'd still be in heaven..

Ya David's (sis's dad) a great guy, a great guy! We didn't even know that each other collected for quite some time, but now it's great, we go to shops all the time and shows when they come around.. He's really only one of a few people I actually hang out with that collects so its really nice to be able to sit down and talk coins... And even nicer to go out and drool over coins at the shows!

FadeToBlack- I should have been more clear, lol, my fault..Unfortunately the '56 isn't one of his 3 flying eagles. The only flying eagle spots in his album (as well as mine) are for the 1857 and both versions of the 1858.. I think most exclude the hole for the '56. But wow, that sure would be sweet if he had the '56 in MS too.. But... Sadly nope.. His albums still pretty darn nice, lol, nicer than mine at least.
