In my recent searches I come across very few small date zinc 1982D's and even fewer small date zinc 1982's(philly).

Are these worth setting aside?

My last $100 or so face of "zinc only" cents produced 5 1982D's and 2 1982's(philly). Only the zinc small date ones.

The large date copper are the most abundant. The small date phili's are running even in copper/zinc and appear to be the least abundant. This is just my experience and does not reflect the actual minted population.I suspect some hoarding of small dates may have taken place early on due to the popularity of the '60 and '70S small dates.According to "COINS" mag. unc.roll prices the Denver large date zinc has the highest value ($35) followed by the Philli small date copper ($25).Their single coin prices do not reflect much variance.

I believe I had to buy the Philly as I just couldn't find one but I'm not sure on that. I just remember that I bought all the variations (7 ?) of the 82's that someone was selling on ebay for a few bucks.

Seems odd that the D lge. date has a higher premium
than the P small zinc. Oh well !
I should of kept my unc. D's LD's
Whoop's, just noticed that you stated the sm. coppers
not the zincs.
What's a roll of the sm. date P zincs going for (unc.) ?

I keep all SD's as long as they are in decent condition, I think it was BadThad that got me doing this.

Here's a thread I started and it might explain why the Denver Large Date Zinc is so expensive in the roll price.
