Not sure what "asw" means but 40% Kennedy halves were produced from 1965 to 1970 and some were also made for mint and proof sets with the date of 1776-1976. There are also copper nickle versions with the dual date too.

All US halves dated 1964 and before are 90% There are also proof versions of Kennedy halves from 1992 to date all with "s" mint marks but there are also copper nickle versions of the same dates.

Other than that there are two commemorative halves that are 90%, the 1982 George Washington and the 1983 Bill of rights halves.

ASW = actual silver weight. Dirt simple formula for calculating it yourself: Mass of object * stated or known purity = ASW.

Raymo's site is a good one.

Thank you both.
Great!, so...
Up to 1964 are 90% 0.3618 oz. ASW
1965 to 1970 are 40% 0.148 oz. ASW

The asw is the troy ounces of pure silver in each coin.

Looks like you got the answer

I thought I would add that Krause World coin has ASW at .1479 for 40%,
And ASW .3617 for 90%.
