I'm not sure if it's most appropriate to call coins like this "painted," "colorized" or "coins with crap on them" (as somebody recently called this kind of coin in another thread), but...

Cat lovers might (?) go for these. They carry a NZ Mint price tag of $145 for a 1oz silver coin, so you'll have to be a truly dedicated, very intensely devoted cat lover.

Oh yes, those coins definitely qualify as "coins with crap on them" - they're utterly dreadful.

Sorry, Barry...

I believe this proves for all time that nothing is beyond or beneath Niue when it comes to what they'll put on a coin.

Eight posts in this thread already and no one has pointed out the coin comes in a 'ball of yarn' display case? No need to advertise, these things are going to sell themselves.

I can imagine all the cats lining up at the Mint to make sure they get one of these beauties

Ya they remind me of something you would buy at a dollar store...cheap looking coin with a sticker of a cat stuck on it.
Rest in Peace

I am an intensely devoted cat-lover (mine is sleeping beside me right now) and I am just sitting here shaking my head in disbelief.

SDCrow -- no, I didn't notice the 'ball of yarn' display case....shaking my head some more now....

I going to buy some blank rounds and package of stickers.

Who is going to shell out $145 for a 1oz silver coin hideously defaced with this "colorized" junk on them? Not me .......
