(Sorry I dont mean to post this twice I'm still trying to figure this site out and didnt realize there was a section devoted to this.)

I found a 1958 D Jefferson nickel with 2 mint errors. I took it to the local coin shop and the guy told me I should send it in to have it looked at professionally and he'd never seen anything like it and I can't find a single article about it. The first error (the one he said he had never seen before) the 8 in 1958 is spaced farther than the other numbers and is smushed and looks more like a B (The date literally looks like 195B). The second error is that the reverse is rotated id say about 10-15 degrees. I'm wondering if anyone has had anything similar or could tell me something about it! help!

The 8 is just damage, not an error. The rotation on the reverse is within the guidelines of the mint, not that collectible.

The "8" is damaged, it happened after the coin was minted and is referred to around here as PMD.
The rotated reverse is minor. 90-180 degree rotations bring some added value.
Keep looking and keep posting, maybe the next one will be better.

And that is exactly what you have done here ... at zero cost to yourself but the time to write the thread.

100% with the above experts ... the 8 in 1958 took a serious hit during it's circulation life, displacing the metal into it's current form. This is not an error ... but an interesting curiosity.

The die rotation is again interesting ... but not worthy of a premium to a specialist in that area.
