The Early American Coppers' Convention and Show will be open to the public this coming Friday, Saturday & Sunday! It's being held in the greater Columbus area at the Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark, Ohio. The hotel is 25 minutes east of the Columbus (CMH) airport. http://www.cherryvalleylodge.com/

Admission to the bourse and the seminars is free. Bourse public hours will be 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Sunday hours are 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. There will be about 60 dealer tables.

While the focus is upon copper coins, large cents, Half Cents, tokens and colonial coins, some dealers will have additional offerings. This is THE place to be if you have a need for help in attributing your early coppers! Do exercise caution though ... copper collecting is highly addictive!

Wish I could go, never been to an EAC show, sounds like fun to geek out with old copper collectors!

Oh it is. I'm there now. In about an hour and a half it kicks off with a hospitality reception (Usually some pretty good food.) then at 8 PM the Happenings begin. Selected varieties of Half Cents, Large Cents, Colonials, and early silver have been announced and participants bring their examples for display and comparison. (I have a 1798 S-156 in the Large cent happening. My traveling companion has an 1802 C-2 Half Cent struck over a spoiled large cent in the Half Cent happening.)

Then starting tomorrow morning three days of early copper, educational programs. and of course Saturday night the annual EAC sale.
