If there was something there, the glare might white it out. You might want to look into diffusing the light to remove the glare. I find it better to rotate a doubled die coins image 180 degrees from what I want to show. That way the light falls over it and shows it. With the light you are using hit what you want to see, all we see is white glare. To diffuse the light source, this can be done easily. Just make the light pass through a piece of grocery bag, facial tissue or white paper/s. This lets the light show through diffused. Removes glare. All depending on your light source and not letting the diffuser touch the bulb.
