I'm looking an inexpensive (I didn't say cheap) and reliable way to photograph individual coins. I have neither the time or inclination to become a professional photographer.

I've stumbled into an area where I don't know very much and wanted to see if anyone has direct experience with the Carson zOrb...?

Well... from the lack of input on the Carson, I did a little searching and found the Mambate 20x - 200x iT7 thread. I ordered one for $26 shipped.

Wondering how you liked the Mambate that you got? I have the Carson Zorb and I think for the money it is ok. It does not take amazing images but I suppose it does the trick. I am sure I could make a few adjustments and it would take better pictures than I am taking now.

I REALLY like the Mambate. The only quibble I have is that you will need to get a stand to be able to get good photos of the entire coin. With the small stand that the Mambate comes with, you cannot 'zoom out' enough to capture the entire coin. I've looked at other threads and there's a consensus that the "Lighthouse USB Microscope Stand" is the best combination of affordable and effective. I've ordered one from Amazon and will look forward to putting it to work...

Oops... sorry. On my drive home from work, the facts came into much clearer focus. I bought the Lighthouse USB Microscope Stand from Ebay for $47.95 (shipped free). Okay, I know I'm buying too much coin stuff, when I can't remember where I bought it from! Ugh.
