I'm always on the lookout for good treasure hunting or metal detecting books. The very best books I've read on the subject are the Treasure Hunters Manuals #'s 6 & 7, by Karl von Mueller. I have several KvonM books. I think they're a "must" for for any detectorists collection. So what are some of your favorites?

I think the Karl von Mueller books are some of the better ones that I have read. Mostly because he has stories to illustrate his points. Sure, you can say keep your mouth shut about what you find, but if you have an over the top story about what happened to someone who couldn't keep their mouth shut...

A lot of books seem to fall into the treasure legends catagories. Those are largely pointless and I don't bother with them any more. After reading Treasure Hunters Manual I think I was ruined on other books of the same ilk.

Another favorite is "Sudden Wealth" by Deek Gladson. Which is another alias of Karl von Mueller or Charles Dean Miller. Other books I've read of Karls are "The Coinshooters Manual", "Master Hunter Manual", and "Waybills to El Dorado". All are great books, full of information from his years of experience.... I'll have to check that site out nuggethill!
